Buenos Aires, November 20 (NA) -- The Secretary of Tourism, Environment, and Sports, Daniel Scioli, starred in a moment of humor at the Assembly of the Federal Tourism Council (CFT), where he presented a yerba mate with the nickname 'Pichichi,' in an orange package—the color of the jersey of the football club 'La Ñata,' where he played for several years. 'Pichichi' is a nickname that originated in the football world (in Spain, it is the name given to the top scorer each year) because he was the top scorer for Club Villa la Ñata, a nickname by which he has been known ever since in his political career. The official, as learned by Noticias Argentinas, surprised the audience by giving away orange packages of his brand, justifying himself by saying that 'if football star Lionel Messi 'has his own yerba mate, why can't I have mine'?'. Scioli clarified that the 'Pichichi' yerba mate, made in Misiones, is not a commercial product and is not for sale, but is produced in limited quantities to serve as an institutional gift or souvenir. The moment of humor was completed when he showed the back of the yerba mate package, which in large letters bears the slogan 'Se te fue la mano,' an allusion to the accident he suffered in 1989 on the Paraná River during his days as a motorboat racer, which caused him to lose part of his right arm. Previously, the official had already given away 'Pichichi' yerba mate to the governor of Entre Ríos, Rogelio Frigerio, during a visit to Paraná, and to the Minister of Economy and Tourism of the United Arab Emirates, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, during a visit to Dubai.
